The Shankar Mahadevan Concert rocked Bangalore!!

Unbelievable, Marvelous, Fantastic, would be some of my adjectives to the well-deserving Shankar Mahadevan Concert on Friday Night, 17th October. It would have been a sin to even think about the concert, to be boring. People who really watch the music reality shows like Sa re Ga Ma Pa will know it better, what Shankar Mahadevan is capable of.

I had a hectic day in the office, after which I thought I might not be able to enjoy the show. But then, I got freshened up in the office, from where we (few friends) directly left for Palace grounds. Fighting against all the odds, be it traffic jams or finding the venue we finally reached at the concert.

Then we were welcomed by a huge crowd of people, which was quite expected, as the tickets were free of cost distributed at Times of India Office, and some other places in Bangalore. After being on the roads for more than an hour and half, I was so very exhausted, but still trying to keep up my enthusiasm level. We stood in the line, and in no time, we showed our passes, and entered the concert. Oh God! We were so far away from the stage. I could hardly see anything on the stage, though there was not anything good that time. There was a barricade beyond which we were standing as we had the “Normal” passes. That’s what the watchman told us when we showed our passes. “Oh Normal hai?” But I was more worried about, not getting to see anything on the stage, which worsens because of my height restrictions. :). We waited for the show to start. It was already time. But then the delay too, was expected. As we waited, we were talking about general stuff, when we got distracted twice or more by the false alarm of the hooting, signifying the arrival of the Man of the day! After not much waiting, he finally arrived! May be we did not realize the wait. He started with a very melodious song, depicting the various activities of social welfare undertaken by Times of India.

After that the stage was set on fire with all the beats of his famous songs. None of them could escape his charisma. Everyone was tapping there feet, clapping to the beats, singing with the singer himself, dancing to the peppy dance numbers. It was like a party time in Bangalore, where they say the night life has worsened. Who said that? :) At least on that day, anyone could prove that it’s not that bad at all. :). This will surely change once the concert was overJ. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, in spite of other factors like, all day hectic work of office, or the traffic, or no water available. Who cared? I never did. :). All latest bollywood songs were covered. None were missed. The music, the song, the enjoyment was all in the air. He was interacting with the crowd so well that, it all seemed as if he had cast a magical spell on all of us.

I tried to get a quick glance of the Man of the Concert, on the stage, although there was a projector on which he could be seen clearly. But I see him on the TV. I was successful most of the times to get an inch long view of him. Yes, he was that far!
There was mainly all young crowd surrounding us. But there were a lot of parents and grand parents also who accompanied their children, which proves that the charm of Shankar is all around. “Age no bar”! :)

Finally the show ended at 10:00 with all of us heading towards the gate as we were carrying with us, the few most enjoyable moments of our life. We can never forget it, or say I can never forget, my first concert, which had been so very memorable that, I will never ever forget that in my life!
